Supercritical-CO2-extraction-machine-for-tea-decaffeination-experiment
Supercritical CO2 Extraction equipment is often used to remove caffeine from raw materials, but without the correct process and real experiments, no one can say the effect of the equipment for decaffeination.
The customer from Japan ask us to do experiment with his tea by CO2 extraction machine. The original caffeine content in tea is 4.7%. Because no extraction technology/data, we can only ask the professors at the local university, through discussion, we finally determined the protocol of the experiment.
The experiment use 20L CO2 Extraction machine to process 5 KG of tea, whole experiment takes 2.5 hours which include loading, unloading and co-solvent recycle. After decaffeination, the caffeine content in tea is 1.1% (see following report)
Through experiments, we can get that the coffee removal efficiency of the CO2 extraction machine is very efficient.
